David's final look. I am not changing his face again. I know I messed up a little on his hair but other than that I'd like to know what you guys think of his new look. I plan on coloring him as well as his beloved Ally.
his final look! I think it looks nice, but I feel there are some issues with this sketch..
first off, I get the impression this is a 15 year old kid. is he supposed to be a teenager? cuz I thought he was supposed to be older
then next his eyes aren't looking in the same direction. what I always do is, I cover up one eye and look where the other one is looking, to see if they're both looking the same way. his left eye (on our right) is looking far more to the right than his right eye.
and lastly his neck is crooked. the left line is going inwards, while the right line, is going more or less straight down. since it's anime style, his neck doesn't need to be any thicker, but I would make both lines straight (kind of like you drew allison's neck).
other than that his face looks good (myeah his cheeks aren't exactly mirrored but I don't think that's all too important). I like how you drew his mouth and I think the eyes themselves look okay (just they're not looking in the same direction ) if he's supposed to be around 15 years old or supposed to look young, I'd say keep him the way he is because he looks good this way! if he's supposed to look/be older, I'd say he needs a little more fixing, but I'm not going to go into detail since I don't know how old he is supposed to be/look either way it's nice to see a male anime-styled character with a real chin! I'm glad you kept that in, I get so tired of these male characters with this 'feminine' lack of chin
as for my rating: vision I just filled something in, cuz there's no vision here, it's just a sketch originality: his face isn't too different from the average anime male, but like I said, very happy to see he has a chin! for some reason most people (including professional/published anime artists!) give all their anime characters the same pointy chin technique is good, but there are a few minor flaws (but I know you can draw him without those flaws) AND it's a sketch, which means it's unfinished. I don't like sketches lol you would get a much higher technique rating if you finish this impact is low, because like I said there are some issues with the sketch. if you fix his hair, eyes and neck, he'll leave a much better impact!
myes so I'm looking forward to seeing him coloured!
It's a nice peice of work, nice funadmentals. Altho I can't help but think that where the face is position it could be moved over just slightly. Otherwise it's a well drawn sketch.
Thank you! I messed up on his hair on the top left-hand side so it kind of makes it look off as well. I didn't realize until after I'd scanned and posted.
